I have made a second bowl from the maple that I got from a tree in Vancouver, Washington. This bowl is similar to the previous bowl in that I cut out the knots and imperfections and then inserted circular segmented pieces. For this bowl, the segmented pieces are made from padauk and maple. I also made a big padauk and maple ring around the rim of this bowl as this bowl was not very tall. I really like the juxtaposition of the natural grain pattern and the geometric patterns of the segmented insertions in this bowl.
